The purpose of this pilot is the development and validation of complex vehicle routing, car passenger matching, and fleet management algorithms based on simulated car sharing or, in general, on-demand mobility data using HPC-capabilities.
Such services are being planned, especially in the context of autonomous vehicles because automotive industry is in transformation.
The use of the EVOLVE testbed will allow to examine approaches for designing, implementing, and validating complex routing algorithms using HPC-capabilities of the data processing. This requires the use of huge computation resources on traditional infrastructure and would benefit from HPC-enabled testbeds.
